Learnership Program at Sibanye Stillwater for 2023

Location: West Wits, Kroondal

The bare minimum requirement is:

  • The Blasting Certificate program only accepts applicants who have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Educational Certificate.

The Appointee Should:

  • Pass a risk-based medical assessment at the appropriate Sibanye Gold Occupational Health Care Center, which will evaluate whether the Appointee is medically fit for the position and environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Shortlisted candidates must go through an interview procedure, a psychometric assessment, and screening; these factors will be taken into account when learnerships are allocated.
  • The selection procedure won’t be postponed in order to accommodate candidates whose screening is delayed for whatever reason.
  • Online submission of a CV, certified (SAPS) copies of identification, and qualifications is required.
  • Applications that are not comprehensive won’t be taken into consideration.
  • All international credentials must be verified by SAQA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learners acquiring this qualification will be equipped with the required competencies to supervise safe and efficient blasting and other associated mining activities in an underground environment

Learnership 18.2 Plating 

  • Plater / Welder – required qualification subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Plating and Structural Steel Drawings and Platers Trade Theory
  • Have the relevant minimum N2 qualifications to be considered in the above mentioned engineering trade for which the application is made.
Learnership 18.2 Rigger\Ropesman 

  • Rigger / Ropesman– required qualification subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawings, and Rigger Trade Theory.
  • Have the relevant minimum N2 qualifications to be considered in the above mentioned engineering trade for which the application is made
Learnership 18.2 Plating 

  • Plater / Welder – required qualification subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Plating and Structural Steel Drawings and Platers Trade Theory.
  • Have the relevant minimum N2 qualifications to be considered in the above mentioned engineering trade for which the application is made.
Learnership 18.1 Fitting MW 

  • Required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Engineering Drawing, and N2 Fitting Including Machining Trade Theory .
Learnership 18.1 Electrical MW 

  • Required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Industrial Electronics, N2 Electrical Trade Theory.
Learnership 18.1 Boilermaking MW 

  • Required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Plating & Structural Steel Drawings, N2 Platers Trade Theory.
